A VILLAGE IN NORTHUMBERLAND IS ATTRACTING ATTENTION FOR ITS SPECULAR WALKING VIEWS AND A HIDDEN GEM ATTRACTION 11:56, 02 Jun 2025Updated 17:28, 02 Jun 2025 It might not be one of the best
known places in the area but a rather charming destination in Northumberland 'full of secrets' has been championed as a great place for visitors to take a chance on this summer.
And that's down to the fact that it has some 'spectacular' walks and a hidden gem tourist attraction. You can't fail to have noticed that CHRONICLELIVE likes to write
about Northumberland quite a lot and, given just how vast an area it is and has much it has to offer, we'd be very remiss not to. Pretty much every day, news reaches us that somewhere
in the region has received recognition; whether it be a pub being listed as one of the best in the UK, a beach being given Blue Flag status or a castle being named as a must visit. Well now,
with the May half term over and thoughts now slowly turning to the upcoming school summer holidays, families across the UK will be starting to think about places they might want to head to
to enjoy a break away. When it comes to Northumberland, there are more obvious holiday destinations like Bamburgh, Seahouses, Alnwick and Berwick, the latter recently named the UK's
happiest place, but a village that is being talked up as a great place yo go is Bellingham. Just shy of an hour's drive from Newcastle city centre, Bellingham, described by Visit
Northumberland as a 'village of secrets' is becoming increasingly popular with walkers keen to enjoy some breathtaking views and stunning landscapes on their travels. While it
might be dwarfed in size by some of its neighbours, Bellingham is a place that people really should check out,. whether that be for a cosy afternoon in the pub, a scenic stroll to blow the
cobwebs away or to take pictures of some of its attractions, including notable hidden gem, Hareshaw Linn Walk, which ends with the perfect photo opp - a 30 foot waterfall. The Hareshaw route
takes hikers through some beautiful countryside, as well as passing an old iron works on the way to the waterfall. And, once you've done your walking, you can enjoy some rest and
relaxation in a number of 'proper traditional' pubs, including The Cheviot Hotel and The Black Bull, with a number of boozers in the area also dog friendly. Article continues below
