hefty investment is aiming to be the region's best. Robertshaw's Farm Shop opened in Thornton, near Skipton, earlier this year, following a £2.85m funding deal with NatWest and the

bank's asset finance partner Lombard. The new venue replaced the former Keelham Farm Shop which closed in 2024. James Robertshaw, who owns and manages Robertshaw's, has led the

venture alongside his team. The farm shop has a butcher's, delicatessen, greengrocers, sweet treats and a restaurant and cafe to make for a fun family day out. The new North Yorkshire

business has been a hit with customers during its early days. On TripAdvisor, A Traveller posted: "We used to visit when it was Keelhams and I'm relieved to say, it's just as

good. The food market is superb, with wonderful produce, at reasonable prices, straight from the farm to your plate. "The food in the cafe was good and the poached eggs, just as they

should be, bright yellow and oozy, but the thing that stood out, like a cherry on the cake, was the customer service that we received from Rachel in the restaurant. She was friendly, kind,

attentive, funny, low-key, smiley, hardworking and really, really good at her job." In another five-star review, Fiona claimed the farm shop's restaurant served the 'best

Sunday lunch' around. She posted: "Absolutely amazing. We had roast beef and turkey, Yorkshire puddings were absolutely outstanding and the gravy made the dish - well done."

However, some customers cited 'teething problems' during their visits. So, as part of our sister website Yorkshire Live's Explore Yorkshire series, Craig Jones headed to the

county's newest farm shop to see how it is getting on. You can read his verdict in full here but here's a snapshot: "Arriving, I was struck with how bright and welcoming the

place was. Little ones are sure to have their attention taken by the big red tractor which quickly comes into view when walking through the doors. "The variety and quality of produce

felt pretty evident while there were a number of deals - the family fajita package felt like something of a bargain. Alongside the food, there's a solid offering of specialist wines and

beers. "The menu, during my experience in the restaurant, offered diners burgers, pies, salad and Japanese poke bowls. I opted for the grilled chicken cajun burger. Article continues

there's no complaints from me. It appeared those aforementioned teething problems were ironed out by the time I experienced Robertshaw's." _ROBERTSHAW'S FARM SHOP - 21
