Foodies were out in force at a Newcastle park on Saturday to sample the delights of an annual food festival. The Newcastle Food and Drink Festival debuted in Exhibition Park this time last
year after three years in the planning, but this year moved across the city to its new venue of Leazes Park. Many punters headed straight for the international street food arena which has 22
independent sellers from across the globe, while others nabbed treats to take home at the artisan market. There was also a cookery theatre, as well as live music and children's
entertainment. Ahead of the festival, director Michael Johnston said: "After a fantastic reception from the local community for our debut, we couldn’t be more excited about this
weekend. "We’ve brought in fresh attractions for returning faces and we hope to recapture the same incredible atmosphere." The Newcastle Food and Drink Festival returns on Sunday
from 10am to 7pm. Tickets for the festival are on sale here. Daily tickets cost £10.95 for adults and £5.95 for under-16s - plus a £1 booking fee - and entry is free for under-fives. For
