A PUB IN NORTHUMBERLAND HAS EARNED ITSELF TWO BIG FANS IN THE FORM OF A MUSIC LEGEND AND THEIR FAMOUS OTHER HALF 13:04, 21 May 2025 Whilst already popular with locals and visitors alike,

thanks to its great food and drink and stunning location, a remote pub in Northumberland, also known for its friendly atmosphere, has two new huge fans in the shape of a world renowned music

legend and their other half. When it comes to well known locations in Northmberland, Holy Island has got to be up there with the best of them, thanks its rich history, long causeway and the

fact it is the place fictional TV detective DCI Vera Stanhope calls home. The island, while rather small in size, has plenty to offer those who live or visit there and one of its treasures

is The Crown & Anchor, the highly rated haunt that attracted custom from North East icon Sting and his wife Trudy Styler, when the headed north at the end of last month. Trudy shared a

photo of her and Fields of Gold singer Sting, real name Gordon Sumner, sat down for a meal inside the pub, with them each posing with a pint of Guinness, as Trudy was happy to report in the

accompanying caption, that she and Sting were blown away by the quality of the food they tucked into, describing the Craster kippers they ordered as 'the most delicious delicacy'

she can remember having, before, focusing on Holy Island itself, as she added: 'It was an extraordinary journey, made all the more fun knowing that the tide can cut you off.' Given

that it first opened its doors in 1827 and is therefore, quite rightly regarded as a 'Northumberland institution,' The Crown & Anchor has had a lot of customers in its time

and, just like Sting and wife Trudie, many of those who've eaten or drank there in recent months, are full of praise for the pub and its staff. A 5 star review left on Trip Advisor

earlier this month reads:' Everyone who works there is very friendly and welcoming we would recommend this pub and hotel to anyone visiting the area,' as another satisfied customer

described it as a 'fantastic place for food and great atmosphere.' Article continues below JOIN OUR WHATSAPP COMMUNITIES ChronicleLive is now on WhatsApp and we want you to join
