MANCHESTER CITY WINGER JACK GREALISH HAS BEEN CONSISTENTLY LINKED WITH A MOVE TO NEWCASTLE UNITED AHEAD OF THE SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW OPENING ON SUNDAY 16:00, 29 May 2025 Newcastle United
legend Alan Shearer has admitted it is unlikely the Magpies will sign Manchester City winger Jack Grealish in the summer transfer window. Grealish has been used sparingly by City manager Pep
Guardiola this season despite the Blues suffering a rare trophyless season. Many expected the former Aston Villa man to make a cameo last weekend against Fulham in what many thought would
be his last appearance for the club. Instead, Guardiola chose not to name him in his squad for 'tactical reasons'. It now seems likely that Grealish will leave the Etihad Stadium
this summer and was offered to Newcastle United earlier this season. Our colleagues at the Manchester Evening News understand that Newcastle are not currently targeting Grealish albeit
things can change quickly in the transfer window. Speaking to Betfair, Shearer believes that Eddie Howe's interest in Grealish is unlikely to be sparked over the close season. "I
think Jack's best position is coming off the left," Shearer explained. "That's where we saw the best of him at Aston Villa and he was best there for Man City.
"That's the position where Newcastle are really strong. They've got [Harvey] Barnes and [Anthony] Gordon for that side so I'd be surprised if Newcastle were in for him.

take your money or you think: 'I've got enough money, I need to get out and play,' and I know Jack isn't the type to sit around and do whatever. "From a City point
of view, you have to remember they paid £100m for him, the length of his contract and the salary he's on, there'll be a lot of things that have to be worked out before he goes
elsewhere because no one's paying £100m for him again and I guess no one would pay the salary that he's getting. "There will be a lot of things that would need to fall into
place for him to leave and I guess Man City would help with that in terms of a payoff. There's no doubt Jack is a talented lad and a really nice guy, he just lost his way at Man City
for whatever reason and whenever that happens, you've just got to get out and play football again. "It doesn't look as if there is a future for him at Man City. I know the
questions Pep has faced towards the end of the season and I saw his answers. "He's been as diplomatic as he could be and don't forget, he's trying to protect the club
because they have an asset that they may have to sell and if Pep says anything negative then that brings down the asset's price. From the outside looking in, it looks as if his future
at Man City is done and he has to move on. "If playing abroad is the only option then he'll have to look at it but I'm sure he'll have options from elsewhere. You have to
look at everything else we've mentioned. "Whether a deal can be done or not, or whether he has to go out on loan, I don't know. You'd be foolish to rule out a move
abroad or to the Premier League. "He has to look at whatever options are available to him." The summer transfer window opens on Sunday, June 1 for ten days due to the Club World
Cup before reopening fully on Monday, June 16 until Monday, September 1. _Here at ChronicleLive, we are dedicated to bringing you the best NEWCASTLE UNITED coverage and analysis._ _Make sure
