JACK GREALISH TRANSFER DEMANDS WOULD LEAD TO MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWERS AT NEWCASTLE UNITED 16:00, 21 May 2025 Newcastle United would have to smash their wage budget to sign a star like

Jack Grealish this summer. The England international earns around £300,000 per week which would double the weekly wage of top earners such as Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton and Anthony Gordon.

It would also heap pressure on contract talks with Alexander Isak later in the summer, if Grealish landed that wage, what should Newcastle's main man expect in a new deal? The prospect

of signing Grealish was put to Eddie Howe back in January when talk of the unsettled Man City star leaving first surfaced. He told Chronicle Live then when asked directly if Grealish was

realistic: "Financially? [are we able to sign a player like that?]. I don't believe currently we have." Since then Newcastle's PSR situation has eased and Howe offered a

slightly different answer when asked about soft wage caps last Friday. He said then: "From my perceptive, and I’m not in control of the finances, it all depends on the individual case.

"There is not a blanket, “No, we’re not going to break that”. Or, “Yes, we are”. It depends on the individual and if the individual is worth doing that with, then I think you need to

consider it and maybe implement it. Article continues below "But you have to be aware that every decision you make has a consequence. So, obviously, you have to think that through

carefully." Grealish still has two years left on his Man City contract and in theory could sit on his mega wage packet at the Etihad Stadium before having his pick of options at 31

years of age. Pep Guardiola has said that a decision on his future will not be made until the end of the season. But after being axed for the FA Cup final the writing would appear to be on

the wall for the ex-Aston Villa man. He cost City £100million in 2021 but could be available for around £38m to £43m this summer. Article continues below Of course, he could take a pay cut,

but with clubs like Napoli, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich linked with the star, surely this is his time to make his money before retirement in a few years? There has also been talk of a loan

deal but Man City would insist that his wage packet is covered plus a hefty loan fee. Either way it would cost Newcastle a huge chunk of their summer budget.
