THE £63MILLION MAN WAS EAGER TO BE PART OF NEWCASTLE UNITED'S LAST PUSH TOWARDS THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 06:55, 27 May 2025 Newcastle United chiefs are confident that Alexander Isak will

commit his future beyond 2028 after the Magpies made it to the Champions League. Talks will continue on an enhanced deal that would make Isak the highest paid Newcastle star on the books.

But the fact that Newcastle are dining at Europe's top table again next season removed any lingering doubts on the star's future with Arsenal and Liverpool still keen on his

signature. The Magpies have an astronomical asking price on the Sweden star and he is valued around the region of £150million. Given the fact it would cost millions to replace the striker

it's easy to understand why. But Isak seems happy on Tyneside with his father joining him on the lap of appreciation after the Everton game on Sunday. Article continues below After the

match Howe spoke about Isak's commitment to the black and white cause and how he'd made it clear he wanted to play his part in the Champions League quest. Howe said: "He

trained yesterday - for me, that's the day that he had to train to be fit and available. He hadn't missed a lot of football, it was a week, really, that he'd missed.

"Whenever a player has missed even that small amount of time, you lose a little bit of sharpness in your game and think that was possibly the case. "But credit to him, he made

himself available, he wanted to play, he wanted to make the difference. He had a couple of chances in the game, so I was just very pleased that he was so desperate to play." Newcastle

chiefs are now holding vital recruitment meetings but will also thrash out Isak's future with meetings with the star's agent planned. Article continues below
