AFTER A PARTICULARLY DRY MAY, ALL THE RAIN IS COMING AT ONCE THIS WEEKEND 13:54, 20 May 2025Updated 13:54, 20 May 2025 While many have enjoyed the sunshine in May, as we reach the end of the

month, it looks as if we'll have a lot of rain to catch up on. Weather data from WXCharts show a 600-mile storm coming in from the west, and ready to soak most of the British Isles,

with only small pockets left out of the worst of the weather. Northumberland is one of them, as the western storm will deteriorate over land, with large patches of Northumberland set to

avoid the rainfall. According to the Met Office, most of the North East will see at least some rainfall over the bank holiday weekend. .According to the weather maps, up to 15 regions will

see rainfall for two straight days between Friday, May 23 and Saturday, May 24. They include Lancashire, Cheshire, Cumberland, Westmorland, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire,

Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon, Dorset, Cornwall, and, possibly, parts of the West Midlands. Met Office forecasts for the bank holiday weekend and following week

warn that "a change in weather type is expected as unsettled conditions develop, with weather systems moving in from the Atlantic. The showers that will roam over the country

"could be heavy / thundery" with additional warnings that the temperatures "will feel fairly cool in the often strong winds." Unsettled conditions seem to be the baseline

for forecasts as we head into June. Article continues below The UK has enjoyed warm weather for many weeks now, even leading to some concerns about instituting water rationing measures to

ensure the dry weather doesn't impact water supplies. Western areas of England and parts of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales were warmer than Ibiza over the weekend, and the

Environment Agency warned of a risk of drought this summer without sustained rainfall, instead of one-off rain bombs. JOIN OUR WHATSAPP COMMUNITIES ChronicleLive is now on WhatsApp and we
