The inquiry into the 19 year old bricklayer's demise is being held today (May 21) at Preston Coroner's Court. The inquest has commenced, presided over by senior coroner Dr James
Adeley, who also handled Nicola Bulley's case two years prior. This morning, Dr Adeley informed those present that Lucy Law and Brad Hargreaves, friends of Jay's from Tenerife,
could not be 'located' ahead of the inquest. KEEP UP TO DATE WITH ALL THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS AND TOP STORIES FROM THE NORTH EAST WITH OUR FREE NEWSLETTER Lucy and Brad had joined
Jay at the NRG music festival on the Spanish island last June, reports the Manchester Evening News. However, according to the coroner, both potential key witnesses have 'denied who
they are' in the lead-up to today's proceedings. Article continues below Dr Adeley expressed to the court that efforts to find Lucy and Brad have been unsuccessful, stating:
"We can't find them." He elaborated, "They have denied who they are and we have had police looking for them but we can't find them." Jay, hailing from
Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, was last seen at an event at the NRG music festival in Playa de las Americas before heading to an Airbnb in Rural Parc de Teno, north of the island, on June 17
last year. Attempting to walk back to the apartment he shared with friends in Los Cristianos, Jay subsequently vanished. After a search spanning four weeks, Jay's body was tragically
discovered on July 15 in the Juan Lopez ravine, close to the secluded village of Masca in Teno.
