EACH NEW SUPERMARKET OPENING WILL CREATE AROUND 40 NEW JOBS AS ALDI LOOKS TO EXPAND ITS STORE ESTATE THIS YEAR 09:58, 29 May 2025 The North East is set to get a new Aldi store this summer.


The supermarket chain, which now has over 1,050 stores, will be opening 10 new shops across the country. The new sites come as part of Aldi's long-term plans to open 1,500 stores in the


UK. This year, the supermarket will be investing £650m in expanding its estate. There are plans to open 40 new UK stores. Aldi has not confirmed exactly when stores will open, reports the


Mirror. However, one is set to welcome customers in Newcastle over the summer months. Other locations on the list include Market Harborough in Leicestershire, Brighouse in West Yorkshire and


Oldbury in the West Midlands. Stores are also coming to Deeside in Wales and Fulham Broadway in London. Each new store opening will create around 40 new jobs, paying at least £12.75 and


£14.05 within the M25. From September 2025, Aldi workers are set for another pay increase to £12.85 per hour nationally and £14.16 per hour for those within the M25. Meanwhile, a number of


existing stores are due to be revamped. These include locations in Northumberland, County Durham and North Tyneside.. The list is below. Article continues below Jonathan Neale, managing
