EX NEWCASTLE UNITED STRIKER ALAN SHEARER HAS BEEN FILMING IN NORTH EAST WITH ROBSON GREEN FOR A BBC SERIES 13:48, 29 May 2025Updated 15:03, 29 May 2025 Alan Shearer has declared the North
East coastline is 'very very special' after teaming up with Robson Green to film for a hit TV series. And, as well as spending time by the sea, the ex Newcastle United striker also
had a flight in a vintage aircraft. Like many others in the area, Soldier Soldier and Grantchester actor Robson is a keen NUFC fan, with him posting a number of delighted posts on Instagram
and the Magpies won the Carabao Cup final earlier this year. The first, written minutes after the final whistle blew at Wembley, read: 'LEGENDS! You are all etched in the history of
this club and you have reminded us all why we love Newcastle United! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' with Robson following that up with another, in which he wrote: 'WE
LOVE YOU AND YOU SHALL REMAIN IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER.' So ChronicleLive can only imagine how excited Robson was to be joined by United legend Alan, for what looks like being the latest
episode in the new series of Weekend Escapes, the popular series that has seen Robson travel all over his homeland with a number of different celebrities, to turn the spotlight on all that
is great and good about our fantastic region. Stars to have featured so far include Denise Welch, Les Ferdinand, Jill Scott and Joe McElderry and, clearly pleased at getting to be part of
it, Alan posted a selection of photos from filming onto his Insta grid, along with the words: 'An incredible day yesterday filming with Robson, on the sea and in the air. The North East
Coastline is very very special.' The former England international turned Match of the Day pundit's post quickly got plenty of comments, with one fan replying: 'I was just
awaiting your Tom Cruise climbing out of the plane moment there' as another reacted: 'We have everything on our doorstep. So lucky to live in the NE!" Earlier this month
Robson was seen being filmed in a boat on the River Coquet, with Rev Richard Coles, who made the final of I'm A Celebrity last year. The pair were spotted by local residents in
Warkworth, who were enjoying the sun outside their home, when they saw Robson and Richard go past them Sources tell CHRONICLELIVE that, during their time in the area, the pair headed to The
Hermitage Inn, one of the best known pubs in Warkworth. Article continues below JOIN OUR WHATSAPP COMMUNITIES ChronicleLive is now on WhatsApp and we want you to join our communities. We

night to see his long serving colleague Gary Lineker bid a rather emotional farewell as he hosted his last ever Match of the Day. And the matches they covered included Newcastle v Everton,
which, while United lost 1-0, was the game that saw them clinch Champions League qualification for next season, thanks to Man United defeating rivals Aston Villa 2-0 at Old Trafford.
