Northumberland pair have appeared in court accused of dealing heroin and cocaine. Richard Bathgate and Emma Todd allegedly supplied the class A drugs over a 12-month period in Berwick. The

duo are also suspected of concealing or disguising a total of £68,000 in criminal cash, prosecutors said. Bathgate, 49, of Rothbury, and Todd, 41, of St Marys Field, in Morpeth, were both in

the dock at South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court this week. They both faced one count each of concealing or disguising criminal property, possession of cocaine with intent to

supply, possession of heroin with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of cocaine and being concerned in the supply of heroin. Neither entered pleas to the allegations and spoke

only to confirm their names, dates of birth and addresses during the brief hearing. Holly Clegg, prosecuting, said Bathgate and Todd were suspected of dealing the drugs in the Berwick area

between October 1, 2022 and October 9, 2023. She added: "It's the Crown's position that these matters are not suitable for summary trial. The Crown would say the starting

point, if convicted, of the possession with intent to supply is four years and six months in custody. KEEP UP TO DATE WITH ALL THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS AND TOP STORIES FROM THE NORTH EAST
