THE INCIDENT HAPPENED AT THE JUNCTION OF THE A181 BETWEEN THORNLEY AND DUNELM ROAD 09:45, 21 May 2025 A motorcyclist remains in hospital two weeks after a collision as officers issue an
appeal for witnesses. Emergency services were called to a collision between a silver Peugeot 208 and a yellow Triumph motorbike shortly before 1pm on Tuesday, May 6. The incident happened at
the junction of the A181 between Thornley and Dunelm Road. The motorbike rider, a 77-year-old man, suffered severe leg injuries and was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment

spokesperson said: "We were called to a road traffic incident...near the A181 in Thornley at 12.43pm. We dispatched one ambulance crew and one patient was taken to James Cook University
Hospital." Article continues below The A181 was closed in both directions between Thornley and the junction for Cassop for several hours following the collision. Today, officers from
