It's around this time of year, when the weather outside starts to look a little less dreary, that many of us start looking to spruce up our homes to match. As much as I'd love to

give my flat a full refresh for the spring, redecorating is so expensive. Instead, I headed to Dunelm in search of a bargain, keen to find an inexpensive way to brighten up my bedroom. I

wasn't sure what I was looking for exactly, but it didn't take me long to find it. The bedding section was right next to the door at my local Dunelm and I was super impressed by

the stylish designs available - there were duvet covers in every colour imaginable - but one in particular stood out. READ MORE: Dunelm 'stylish' £20 storage shoppers say looks

featured a pretty sage floral design on each side, so you basically get two duvet covers in one. I nearly put it back on the shelf when I saw the £16 sticker, assuming it was just the cover

rather than a set, but you get a double duvet cover and two pillowcases included. The sage colour was gorgeous and the shop had handy swatches next to every set, so you could feel the fabric

before buying, which I thought was a great idea. To my surprise given the price, the Bexley cover felt like amazing quality - crisp and light, but not too thin. It seemed like the perfect

material for those warmer nights. There was a picture on the shelf, showing what it looks like on the bed and I was sold. The sage green scheme looked fresh and calming, but it struck me

that the versatile colour would go nicely with a lot of decors, like grey, blue and neutrals. I wouldn't usually go for a patterned duvet cover, but this one was nice and subtle. I

checked the reviews online, as I always do, and wasn't at all surprised to find dozens of five star reviews - an average rating of 4.8 overall. One shopper said: "Sooo cosy and

cute!!! I love it so much. It brightens up my room and it's so soft." And another said: "My absolute favourite duvet cover. Lovely simple pattern, brilliant quality. Very

comfortable and washes well. Doesn't crease when washing which is a plus!" I was relieved to read that it didn't crease much in the wash as I've never been one for

ironing my bedding. The only criticism I saw was that it 'wasn't very soft', but I personally prefer crisper sheets during the warmer months anyway. All in all, the Bexley

Duvet Set seemed like a total bargain. I'd expect to pay John Lewis prices for something of that quality. I also loved the Annie Duvet Cover Set for £20, which looks bubble gum pink on

the website, but is actually more of soft, muted shade. The Bamburgh Waffle White Duvet Cover Set was another stand-out and looked really expensive in person, though it was a little more

than I was looking to spend at £45 for a double set. I had a little look for some similar bedding to the Bexley Set online, but Dunelm's was by far the cheapest. The Laura Ashley

Parterre Duvet Cover And Pillowcase Set comes in a similar colour scheme, priced from £45 at Next, and Amazon's Herside Green Floral Duvet Cover Set starts from £28.99.
