M&S HAS ISSUED GUIDANCE OVER STEPS TO TAKE TO KEEP YOUR ACCOUNT EXTRA SAFE FOLLOWING THE CYBER ATTACK 10:58, 22 May 2025 M&S has urged shoppers to be aware of extra security steps to


keep your account safe. The supermarket has created a step-by-step guide of the best way to reset your password, after M&S revealed some personal customer information may have been


stolen during the cyber attack it faced last month. Under the 'Help and Support,' page is a list of FAQs related to the Cyber Incident, where M&S has warned customers with an

'FRUSTRATION' AFTER CYBER ATTACK IMPACTS SECURITY ACCESS M&S explains shoppers will need to login to your M&S account, fill in your details and sign is as usual. It is at


this point customers should see a message asking you to 'reset your passport,' via a link. Article continues below The supermarket's guidance then states: "Please click


the link and you will be taken to a new webpage on M&S.com. "Once there, enter your email address and click the ‘send password reset’ link. "You will then receive an email to


your registered account from Marks and Spencer Service asking you to reset your password." After this step, M&S has asked shoppers to click the ‘reset your password’ button in the


email, which should take you to a new webpage where you will be able to change your password. The retailer continues: "Enter and confirm your new password and then click the ‘reset my


password’ button. "When this has been done, you will see a message to confirm your password has been changed. "Remember to use a strong and unique password." READ MORE:


M&S WARNING URGES CUSTOMERS TO 'BE CAUTIOUS' FOLLOWING CYBER ATTACK Over the last few weeks, customers have tried to edit their passwords, with questions flooding in for the


chain after many experienced difficulties. One shopper expressed they had "fun and games," trying to change their password, after they claimed to have spent multiple hours trying


to change their password. In response, M&S said: "I'm sorry to hear about this and I can understand your frustration. We're aware that a small number of customers are


experiencing some delays in receiving their password reset link, meaning the link has expired by the time the email has been received. "I know this is disappointing; however, my


recommendation is to keep trying and eventually, you'll receive a link within the two hour expiry window." Article continues below M&S is still dealing with the aftermath of


the cyber attack, with many services still on hold. In the latest development, it was reported the brand's website went down last night (May 21), according to the Daily Express. Since


then, it has returned for shoppers to browse items online, but online ordering remains to be on pause, following the "cyber incident" at the end of April.
