Birmingham City have confirmed the sale of Romelle Donovan to Brentford after the winger's successful loan. Donovan joined Brentford B on loan at the end of the winter transfer window
after an unsuccessful spell with Burton Albion before Christmas. The 18-year-old flitted between the Bees' B team and under-21s, registering eight goals in the second half of the season
to become a mainstay in their starting line-up. He scored a stunning goal in Brentford's Professional Development League cup final victory over Bournemouth last month and the Bees have
seen enough to make his loan a permanent move. The deal was always designed to become a permanent transfer and although the fee hasn't been disclosed be either club, it will go down as
pure profit on Blues' balance sheets. Donovan - who has played for England at under-18 and under-19 level - is a product of Blues' academy and joined the club aged seven. Every
penny from his transfer will therefore count as profit when it comes to Profit and Sustainability (P&S). It was hoped that Donovan would break into Blues' first team under Chris
Davies at the beginning of last season but a plethora of new signings blocked his path. Supporters saw plenty of potential in Donovan in his cameos in the Championship in 2023/24. He played
10 games in total that season after Wayne Rooney handed him his first team debut in a 2-0 defeat to Hull City when he was just 16. SHOULD BLUES HAVE PERSISTED WITH DONOVAN? HAVE YOUR SAY
