THE MARTIN LEWIS MONEY SHOW LIVE RETURNED ON TUESDAY (MAY 20) AS THE EXPERT SHARED A CRUCIAL UPDATE REGARDING THE POTENTIAL COMPENSATION PAY OUTS ASSOCIATED WITH UNDISCLOSED DISCRETIONARY
COMMISSION ARRANGEMENTS (DCAS) 14:38, 21 May 2025 Martin Lewis has issued an update to those waiting for news on the potential compensation pay outs associated with the Discretionary
Commission Arrangements (DCAs). On the Martin Lewis Money Show Live, yesterday (May 20) the money expert discussed the current status of an appeal which was heard by the Supreme Court in
April, stating those affected can expect a verdict in July. Mr Lewis answered a question from an individual asking whether it was still worth their while to put in a claim, as the Financial
Conduct Authority (FCA) has stated the compensation should be automatic. In response, the finance savvy specialist urged those impacted to put in a claim as soon as possible, in order to get
ahead of administrative proceedings, the Daily Record reported. READ MORE: MARTIN LEWIS ISSUES WARNING TO UK TOURISTS TAKING A MOBILE PHONE ABROAD The money saving expert added individuals
could also wait to see the court's judgement on the matter, but added a tool such as the MoneySavingExpert claiming function online can be helpful. A concerned viewer of the show, Lisa,
asked Mr Lewis about the information surrounding car finance and DCAs. She said: "It would be great to get an update on car finance, I believe I could be eligible due to having cars on
DCAs but never got round to putting my claim in. "I have now read that if you are due any pay out, you will be contacted and repaid automatically, without filling anything in. Is this
right?" Mr Lewis responded, explaining that millions of people had already put in DCA claims, and what the future may look like regarding the current investigation into the matter He
said: "Yes, basically around 2.5 million people have put DCA claims in. Discretionary Commission Arrangements, that's effectively where car dealers charge higher interest than they
needed to and they got more commission for doing so and the regulator (FCA) is investigating that. "The most important thing to understand is car finance claims are currently on hold
because the Supreme Court is looking at a case right now, it's already heard evidence on it and we're waiting for a decision, now no-one knows when that will come - we just
don't know." The specialist added he had heard from sources that a decision on the matter could be reached by July. He said: "The people in the know are telling me
they're hoping it will be July, so I'm going to say July-ish is the probably rough time span." READ MORE: MARTIN LEWIS ISSUES WARNING TO UK TOURISTS TAKING BANK CARD ABROAD
THIS SUMMER However, Mr Lewis followed this up by pointing out until the Supreme Court has made its ruling, "nothing else happens." The expert also explained what the process would
be if reimbursements were to be granted to drivers, stating it should automatic for those affected. Although, he added it wouldn't hurt to be prepared with any admin done ahead of
time. Article continues below He said: "I would still suggest if you want to get ahead of the queue and make sure all the admin is done right and they have all your details and
they're all up-to-date. I would still probably just go and put your claim in now, but only use a free service. “But you don’t have to, if you just want to wait, if you are eligible you
should be paid out - if the Supreme Court rules saying that car finance and the way it was done should be paid out.”
