Facebook outage explained as Meta issue statement over users being 'kicked out'Meta's Communications Director Andy Stone shared on X (formerly Twitter): "We're aware people are having

aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now." A "bug that blocks access" has been blamed on the reason Facebook went down today. Meta's business status

page describes there being "major disruptions" to a number of its services. This includes Ads manager, Facebook and Instagram shops, Meta Business suite, Meta Admin Center, Facebook Login,

Graph API, WhatsApp Business API and Marketing API.

Meta's Communications Director Andy Stone shared on X (formerly Twitter): "We're aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now." A social media user

replied: "META using X to let their users know that Facebook and Instagram are down."

‌ "For a minute I thought it was me getting banned or something," a second typed. Another said: "It is so hilarious that you’re telling us through another platform—that is your competitor

and it’s destroying meta." Another said: "Another one after just a week?

" Something is happening and a solar flare won't cut it. Someone is testing something." Another asked: "Did you ever figure out why people had such a hard time accessing the hunter biden

laptop story on your platform?"

Article continues below "Fortunately there are other networks than those of meta to announce that meta is in bulk," another wrote. "Meta uses X to let us know Facebook & Instagram is down.

Haha!," another laughed. The issues have coincided with login problems on Google’s platform.

It suggests a common cause between the outages at two tech conglomerates who largely control their own infrastructure. Meta updated the entire status page to report “unknown” status for all

services other than Messenger API for Instagram.

Some Meta services, such as WhatsApp and the Facebook Ads Transparency page, still worked. Google’s ads status page reports a disruption to the company’s Ad Manager beginning at about 3.30pm

GMT. Google Ads Status Dashboard provides status information on the services that are part of Google Ads.
