bank account used by millions and it will leave you worse off. Customers with a Santander Edge or Edge Up account will no longer earn 1 per cent cashback on certain spending from September
9. If you deposit £500 a month and pay a £3 monthly fee, you can earn cashback of up to £10 a month on bills and up to £10 a month on some debit card spending; so £20 a month in total,
according to the bank's guidance. But from 9 September, in just four months' time, Santander's Edge account will no longer offer 1 per cent cashback on grocery, fuel and

writing to Edge and Edge Up account holders to explain the change, stating that it's because "the cost of offering cashback has increased". It added that "making this
change lets us continue providing the account". Article continues below The same shake-up is coming to the Santander Edge Up account, which comes with a higher £5 monthly fee, but
offers 1 per centcashback up to a larger maximum of £15 a month on bills and spending A Santander spokesperson said: "We regularly review our products to ensure that we can continue to
offer customers long-term value in view of wider market conditions. "As a result, we have made the decision to remove cashback on supermarket and travel debit card spend on our current
accounts from September 9, 2025. Article continues below "Customers can continue to benefit from the existing features on the account, including cashback on household bills paid via
direct debit and fee-free debit card spending abroad." Santander is reaching out to account holders to tell them about the change. This change will affect both new and existing
customers.
