COST OF LIVING PAYMENT WILL BENEFIT MIDLAND HOUSEHOLDS GET OUR BEST MONEY SAVING TIPS AND HACKS BY SIGNING UP TO OUR NEWSLETTER Birmingham City Council is launching its summer round cost of
living support during June, and residents will now be able to make applications. Article continues below The council is handing out £200 grants to those deemed to be in need of support.
While anyone can apply, those most in need of support will be prioritised, such as low-income families with children. Applicants will likely have to show they are suffering financial
hardship and struggling to afford basic essentials like food and energy. The cash will enter bank accounts once applications have been accepted and signed off by the council. Residents may
not be able to apply if they have received HSF cash in the last 12 months. People living in other areas can check their council's website for full details of what is available and when
they can apply. Other forms of support may also be available such as food vouchers. Birmingham Voluntary Services Council, which helps the city council distribute cash, said in an update:
"Please be advised that enquiries will reopen in June 2025. "If you are not currently on the waiting list, and it has now been 12 months since your household last received a grant
payment, you will be able to submit a new enquiry once the scheme reopens in June 2025." The Government says: "You may be able to get help with essential costs from your local
council. "This is sometimes known as the Household Support Fund. "This could help if you’re struggling to afford things like: energy and water bills; food; essential items. Article
