One concerned customer contacted the building society on social media after noticing a payment they did not authorise. They said there was a payment for a Ring doorbell subscription. READ

their account. The customer said they planned to go to their local branch to get help with the issue. Article continues below Nationwide replied: "If you believe there is a fraudulent
transaction on your account, you will need to report this to us. "Please call us on 03457 30 20 11, the lines are open today until 8pm and a member of our dedicated team will be able to
assist you further." Nationwide also offered general advice if customers saw suspicious activity on their account. A spokesperson said: "If someone notices a suspicious payment,
they should call their bank or building society immediately. "Whether it is an email asking for personal information or for you to click a link, report it as we have a team available

building society also shared some advice for keeping bank accounts secure. It said: "When it comes to keeping your accounts safe, the best advice is to shred old financial paperwork
such as bills and banks statements while changing your passwords regularly and not writing them down. "Lastly, keep an eye on your bank statements to spot and report any fraud sooner
rather than later."
