COMMUTER TOWN NAMED AS ONE OF THE BEST IN ENGLAND 17:01, 01 Jun 2025 A West Midlands town has been named as one of the most 'underrated' in the whole country. Prospective house
buyers are being pointed towards Rowley Regis in the Black Country due to a number of factors which place it high on the list for places to live. Chief among these is cheaper than average

and Wolverhampton Road. Article continues below Rowley Regis was ranked second on a national list which considered several factors for towns close to major cities. These also included crime
rates, average salaries, commuter times by both train and car, local amenities and schools. The town was given an overall score of 6.96 out of 10, which could only be beaten by Horsforth
near Leeds. Average house prices in Rowley were a £206,000, well below the UK average of £298,000, while median pay for residents is £27,400. It was closely followed by Sutton Coldfield in
third. They were the only two West Midlands towns to make the top 10 on the list compiled by property service Sell House Fast. They said: "Rowley Regis ranks second, balancing
affordability with excellent school access and short train commutes. "A train journey to Birmingham takes 21 minutes, while driving takes 41.5 minutes. "The average house price
here is a very accessible £206,009 — 23.2% cheaper than the national average. Article continues below "This is also over £130,000 cheaper than Harborne (£336,469) and nearly half the
price of Edgbaston (£388,665), offering exceptional value for buyers priced out of Birmingham’s trendiest postcodes." They added: "But what makes Rowley Regis stand out is the
local amenities. Within five miles are 43 coffee shops, 114 bars and pubs, and 103 restaurants. "Rowley Regis also benefits from excellent school provision. A remarkable 90% of primary
and secondary schools within five miles are rated good or outstanding by Ofsted, ranking third highest among all towns analysed."
