Barry’s bootcamp now open at atherton

Barry’s fast-paced classes are a mix of treadmill intervals and strength training taught in a dark, clubby room lit up with the brand’s signature red glow. They have a themed focus each day

— Arms & Ass or Chest, Back and Abs, for example — but the template for each class is the same. Half the class on the treadmill, half the class on the floor. When you register, you’ll

decide if you want to start class on the treadmill or on a bench and select an assigned numbered location. Since they’re busy cueing two different workouts at once for up to 50 people in a

sold-out class, you should expect little to no one-on-one instructor guidance. PRICING: It’s expensive. A single drop-in class is $29, and that rate drops nominally the more you buy — $135

for five classes ($27/class), $260 for $10 classes ($26/class) and $625 for $25 classes ($25/class). A 50-class pass for $1,150 ($23/class) is available for a limited number of “Barry’s

Charlotte has six classes on weekdays beginning at 5:30 a.m. with the last class starting at 6:30 p.m. Weekend offerings are slightly more limited with five classes beginning at 7:30 a.m. on
