This AARP survey explored the opinions of registered Delaware voters on retirement saving issues.  One in six registered voters said that their employer does not offer a retirement savings

plan. Data from this survey found strong support among Delaware voters for a state retirement savings program and most agree that elected officials in the state should support legislation

that helps workers save for retirement.  Three in five of all registered voters say they feel anxious about having enough money to live comfortably in retirement, and most wish they had more

money saved for retirement.  Delaware registered voters believe retirement savings is important, and they are concerned that some residents may have inadequate savings and could have to

rely on public assistance programs. Also, three in four say that they are concerned that their children, grandchildren, or younger family members will not be able to save enough money to

live comfortably in their retirement years.  Interviews were conducted between January 3 and January 9, 2020. The sample of 606 registered voters ages 25–64 was drawn from a registered voter

list. Half of the interviews were conducted via landline phone and half were conducted via cell phone. All data are weighted by age, gender, and race/ethnicity according to the January 2020

Delaware state voter database statistics. For more information about this survey, please contact Lona Choi-Allum at [email protected].  For media inquiries, contact [email protected]
