According to U.S. Census Bureau data, about 11% of U.S. adults ages 18–64 reported living with a disability in 2021. This series of disability infographics provides national- and state-level
profiles of adults living with a disability in the United States, including national profiles for adults of diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds such as African American/Black adults,
Hispanic/Latino adults, Asian American/Pacific Islander adults, and American Indian/Alaska Native adults. Each infographic contains important data on those who reported living with a
functional disability, such as an ambulatory, cognitive, hearing, visual, self-care, or independent living disability. METHODOLOGY The infographics are populated with 2021 American Community
Survey data tabulated by Cornell University's Disability in America Statistics, an online resource of U.S. disability trends. The data represent noninstitutionalized adults, 18–64,
male or female, all education levels, and living in the United States, including the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Data for the Virgin Islands are not available in
