WHAT IS THE AARP VIDEO VOTERS' GUIDE? The AARP Video Voters' Guide features one-on-one, unedited interviews with some of the top GOP presidential candidates on topics important to
older voters: jobs and the economy, retirement security, Social Security and Medicare. WHICH CANDIDATES WERE ASKED TO PARTICIPATE? AARP requested interviews with the six GOP presidential
candidates who registered at least a 5 percent average in national polls. U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, former U.S. House speaker Newt Gingrich, U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas and
Texas Gov. Rick Perry accepted. Former Godfather Pizza CEO Herman Cain and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney declined repeated invitations to participate. Interview clips with
Bachmann were removed from the Video Voters’ Guide after she dropped out of the race on January 4. Perry clips were removed after he dropped out of the contest on January 19. WHO INTERVIEWED
THE CANDIDATES? They were interviewed by veteran journalist Dave Price in early November. Price is an Emmy and Edward R. Murrow Award-winning reporter and anchor at WHO-HD, the NBC
affiliate in Des Moines, Iowa. He has won numerous state and regional awards for his coverage of the state legislature and Iowa caucuses. WHY IS AARP PRODUCING THESE VIDEOS? AARP has worked
for over 25 years to directly engage its members and the American public in nonpartisan voter education activities. AARP encourages everyone to exercise their constitutional right to vote.
