PROGRAM (SCSEP)_ AARP Foundation SCSEP matches unemployed adults with local nonprofits and public agencies so they can increase skills and build confidence while earning a modest training
wage. These training assignments give participants— who must be 55 or older and have very low income — the knowledge and experience to obtain future employment. At the same time, the “host”

doing just what its name says — helping people over 50 get back to work — since 2013. The free program helps unemployed older adults build the skills and confidence they need to compete for
high-quality jobs. Its success depends on a nationwide network of community partners who implement the program in their area. Community partners reach and serve older adults by incorporating

Foundation has teamed up with Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) from AARP and community partners to offer a training program that gives older adults — especially women and people of

Corps engages highly trained adults over 50 to help children become proficient readers by the end of the third grade. It’s a proven “triple win,” helping students succeed, older adults
thrive, and communities grow stronger. Research shows that Experience Corps is one of the most effective K-3 literacy interventions — one that generates enduring positive outcomes for
students, volunteers, schools, and communities. With its intergenerational approach, the program not only helps students at a critical juncture in their education but also engages volunteers
in their communities, putting their wisdom to work while they guide the next generation of readers. We’re working closely with municipalities, community agencies and school districts across
