emotional interview as she spoke about the difficulties of her husband’s Covid recovery Garraway gave an emotional interview on the final episode of ITV’s Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, where
she spoke candidly about difficulties her husband has faced. ‘I’M NEVER GIVING UP ON HIM’ As Britain’s worst affected coronavirus survivor, Derek, 54, has spent months in hospital and still
requires round the clock care. He was admitted to hospital in March 2020 after contracting the virus and was then placed in a medically induced coma to allow his body time to recover. He did

continue his recovery from home, alongside Kate and their two children Billy, 11 and Darcey, 15. However, he is still unable to wash or feed himself and must eat with the aid of a feeding
tube, and he has medical staff looking after him on shifts to ensure he always has someone by his side. Kate said she sits by his side all night as he is only awake for around 28 hours a
week, so she wants to make sure he can “feel her presence”. Despite the struggles, Kate praised her husband for fighting “so hard to stay in this world” and pledged to never give up on him.
She said: “He will turn to me and say “I love you”. “He is there, he has fought so hard to stay in this world and I’m not giving up on him, ever. READ MORE WHEN WILL KATE APPEAR ON LIFE
