According to TMZ, Ashton's lawyer Laura Wasser filed the documents in a Los Angeles courthouse on Tuesday after the couple finally agreed on a financial settlement. It is believed that

34-year-old Ashton - who is in a serious relationship with Mila Kunis - gave more money than he had originally planned to his former wife in a bid to dissolve their marriage once and for

all. It has been reported that the pair - who got married in 2005 - have been battling over money for some time which has held up proceedings, with a source telling the New York Post's

Page Six: "There had been lengthy negotiations between lawyers for both sides about the financial settlement - in particular, how much he owed her from their marriage. "They have

finally come to an agreement that was acceptable to all sides." While Demi is thought to be worth $150million, Ashton became the highest-paid actor on television when he replaced

Charlie Sheen as the leading role in Two And A half Men in 2011, earning a mighty $750,000 per episode. Ashton filed for divorce from 51-year-old Demi in December 2012, a year after they

announced their split, citing "irreconcilable differences." It is now believed that Ashton has plans to pop the question to his Family Guy star girlfriend Mila in the near future.

Speaking to The Sun, a source revealed: "Demi and Ashton's divorce has cast a cloud over his and Mila's relationship because it's dragged on for so long. "Thankfully

Demi's turned a corner. She's no longer bitter and she wants the divorce over and done with as soon as possible so she can get on with her life too. "Ashton's free to

officially propose to Mila. Both of them want to marry and have children."
