represented the state last Saturday in the national competition in Enoggera, Queensland.
The team participated in a range of challenges, including weapons training simulation in Gallipoli barracks, and quizzes by the 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment.
Team leader Jayden Monaghan said the Cadet team learned the army's core values of courage, initiative, teamwork, and respect.
“We didn’t know what the challenges were until we arrived. It was the ability to adapt and go through the obstacles that was the most challenging part,” he said.
He said the commendation felt rewarding, as it was presented by the Chief of Army and the Regimental Sergeant Major of the Army.
The Army cadet team is represented by a range of age groups, and young persons from Burnie, Devonport, Launceston and Hobart.
