Tiny tots from schools have scheduled to celebrate dahi handi on Janmashtami on Wednesday, in the city. Apart form touching the matka to win a gift, children will also try their hand at
wheel pottery, under the guidance of a trained potter. At Kids World in Nerul, students will dress up as Lord Krishna and his beloved Radha and will try their luck to touch the matki
playfully. “Since the students are very young, we won’t make a pyramid. They just have to touch the matki to get a gift which will be a toffee,” said Anamika Agarwal, principal of Kids
World. They have arranged a special screening of the movie, ‘Krishna — a makhan chor’ which will be shown to children for imparting more knowledge about Shri Krishna and the significance of
this festival. In Orkidz School, Vashi, the tiny tots will try their hands at making a matka on the potter’s wheel. “All of us know that children love to play in mud, sand, soil, clay,
water, rolling mud balls, building mud houses and temples. With this understanding, on the occasion of Janmashtami, Kidzee Vashi is organising a workshop, where kids will try their hands on
wheel pottery under guidance of a trained potter,” said a faculty member of Kidzee, Vashi.
