VULNERABLE PEOPLE ARE BEING URGED TO BE VACCINATED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IF THEY HAVE NOT DONE SO FLU is expected to reach epidemic levels in France in three weeks – but there is still time to

get vaccinated. Extending this year's vaccination campaign until February 28, health officials have urged vulnerable people to visit their doctor before it is too late. “There is still

time to get vaccinated,” the Directorate General of Health said in a statement, as it revealed nearly 100 people have already been admitted to hospitals' intensive care units since the

beginning of the flu season. “The epidemic peak of influenza should be reached in about three weeks. Vaccination should therefore no longer be delayed,” the statement said. Vaccination

remains the most effective means of protection against flu. It is particularly recommended for people at increased risk of complications, which can be serious or even fatal in some cases.

The elderly, young children, those with underlying conditions such as pneumonia, or cardiac or respiratory problems should always seek medical advice as soon as they experience symptoms.
