Court today (21 May) for the murder of Reuben Higgins (Image: WMP) This is the first picture of a teenage killer who was today convicted of murdering a younger boy at a vape shop.


Abdurrahman Summers, 18, and two 15-year-old boys who cannot be named, chased and repeatedly stabbed 17-year-old Reuben Higgins in the leg, arm and chest at Vape Minimarket in Marston Green,


Solihull, shortly after 6pm on October 29 last year.


‌ West Midlands Police released a mugshot of Summers after the three were convicted of murder at Birmingham Crown Court today, Wednesday, May 21.

When the verdicts were read out in court, Summers, from Yardley, stood up and shouted 'what bro?'


He added: "Manz never done nothing, I'm f***ing innocent bro, I never touched anyone. I ain't going down for murder. D********"

Reuben's death.


The trio will be sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on August 5.


‌ In a statement, Reuben's family said: "No sentence is going to provide justice for the evil that was committed against Reuben.


"Reuben was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin, who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Life will never be the same without him.


"We would like to thank the jury, the prosecution and the homicide team from West Midlands Police for all their efforts and work in bringing justice for Reuben.”


‌Reuben Higgins(Image: WMP) Det Insp Michelle Cordell, who led the homicide investigation, said: “This was a cowardly and sickening attack on a young defenceless boy who was significantly


outnumbered.


“Their callous actions that day ended Reubens life in a matter of seconds.


Article continues below “Their senseless behaviour has had a devastating and lifelong impact on Reuben’s family, friends and loved ones and my thought remain with them.


“I hope that today’s verdicts offer some comfort, as they continue to grieve and as they try to rebuild their lives.


"The hunt for the fourth offender is on-going, and we will do everything possible to find him and bring him to justice.”
