ABOUT David Parkes is Senior Policy Advisor in AARP’s Policy, Research and International Affairs division and serves as a project manager for the Global Council on Brain Health (GCBH). The
GCBH is an independent collaborative of scientists, doctors and policy experts convened by AARP to provide trusted information on brain health. He also manages and shapes activities of Brain
Health Action™, a new communications-focused initiative promoting brain-healthy lifestyles. Prior to joining AARP, David worked at the American Association for the Advancement of Science
(AAAS) – publisher of the journal _Science_ – where he spent five years analyzing and reporting on federal research budget and policy developments. Prior to AAAS, he was a research assistant
at the British Embassy in Washington, helping to promote US-UK scientific collaboration. David holds a Master's in International Science and Technology Policy from George Washington
